About URDO
United Rural Development Organization (URDO) was established in December 1997 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization- aiming humanitarian assistance and human development of the marginalized segments in the country. It was registered in February 1998 with the Registrar Joint Stock Companies as a Society under Societies Act of 1860.
United Rural Development Organization (URDO) is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with its head office based in Peshawar and regional offices in Nowshera, Bunir, Swabi and Abbottabad Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province. The organization has its outreach across 21 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 7 FATA Agencies/ 6 Frontier Regions (FRs).
URDO is working across multiple development sectors including education, human rights peace, democracy, gender and reproductive health and other community development sectors across Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and FATA region.
So far, URDO has been actively involved in good governance, peace building, human rights, reproductive health, women empowerment, HIV/AIDS prevention, and community development, capacity development of the local government representatives / CSOs and advocacy / networking among governmental organizations, civil society and communities.
